Grove Avenue Renovation
TEMPLE BETH-EL HAS DONE IT!
We Built for Our Next 90! Well over 500 individual donors answered our call to be a part of the re-beautification of our already stately sanctuary.
Hundreds of people witnessed the Rededication of Temple Beth-El’s sanctuary on May 19, 2024. The Torahs were paraded in to live klezmer music from “My Son the Doctor” at the formal rededication of the sanctuary. Three dignitaries attended and spoke, including Mayor Levar Stoney, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, and Councilman Andreas Addison. Following the festivities in the sanctuary, everyone convened to the new atrium where Paul and Zelda Silver had the honor of revealing the new inscription over the new sanctuary doors: “The Helen & Sam Kornblau/Nathalie & Isaac Silver Sanctuary, given by Zelda & Paul Silver”. This was followed by a rousing champagne toast, then a gourmet catered brunch.
This campaign required teamwork. The calls, emails, and visits from our team facilitated dozens of gifts from our generous donors. The attestation of that generosity was shown on the beautiful Donor Wall!
Temple Beth-El is new, improved, but just the same: new additions include an elevator from the parking lot, an accessibility ramp to the bimah, restrooms on the sanctuary level, central HVAC throughout, and so much more. We are here to embrace anyone who would like to come in to see and feel the warmth. Come for a visit or attend a service or program: call 804-355-3564 for information. Our doors are open!
Thanks to each and every person who donated, whether you were a member, a former member, or a supporter. It is not too late to donate to the Renovation Fund. We have a few more upgrades and tweaks, and there are always repairs. Use the donation form (right side of this page) to be a part of this special time. There is still space for a dedication plaque on the Donor Wall. We are all part of the Richmond Jewish Family – come on down to Grove Avenue for a special treat!
